Stay Lifehacks
Dim Sum for Breakfast: Get off the buffet line. Go up to the hotel restaurant, fifth (or third?) floor, in the morning hours. They serve traditional Cantonese "Yum Cha." Check out all the local families eating there-a sure sign it's good. Steamed pork buns and shrimp dumplings.
Tower View: Upon check-in, ask for a room with a view of the Canton Tower. Even if they ask for a small surcharge, the view of the multi-colored tower at night directly from your window is worth it.
Transport Hack: During that period, the whole of Huangpu Avenue is at a standstill. If you have an appointment or meeting to catch, better alight and walk to either Gangding or Shipaiqiao Metro stations because it will be faster than staying inside a taxicab.
Canton Fair: If you are visiting during the Canton Fair, the hotel provides free shuttle buses to Pazhou complex. Register early at reception because seats run out quickly.
Massage: In the lanes and bylanes behind Shipai area backstreets around the hotel, there are many inexpensive massage places offering excellent foot massages after a long day’s walk. Look for signboards with feet on them-it is safe and very popular among locals.
